Richard DeWitt's 71st Birthday Party Fiesta

Today I am delighted to share Richard DeWitt's 71st birthday party fiesta. With all the many talented Mariachi dancers and Avila's El Rachito Mexican Restaurant catering delicious dishes, such as cheese enchiladas and chicken tacos, and to top it off with Margaritas and Mexican beer, there was a lot of Spanish flair and flavors of Mexico. A tasty "truck" cake with all of DeWitt's logos was prepared specially for the ocassion. Feliz cumpleaños Richard!!

This is the most beautiful family, I’ve had the most wonderful pleasure of photographing them during Diane's 75th birthday celebration! It was the most beautiful day in Newport Beach and after enjoying time by the pool, everyone went inside to grab El Torrito Grill catering! For those who missed out on their Mexican food fix the night previously for Cinco de Mayo, there wasn't a better time to snack on burritos, cheese enchiladas, rice, beans, and guacamole. At the end of the evening, the entire family gathered around for singing of happy birthday and the cutting of the delicious carrot birthday cake. Happy birthday Diane!

This year's Fitness Business Summit, the most unconventional fitness industry event ever, was hosted at The Westin South Coast Plaza in Costa Mesa, California. The morning opened with announcements and entertainment led by Bedros Keuilian, the "hidden genius behind six and seven figure earning personal trainers" and co-creator of Fit Body Boot Camp.

The first guest speaker was Dr. Dan Ritchie. He explained how to select a niche market and E-X-P-L-O-D-E your business! Dr. Ritchie has trained Division 1 athletes, Pro Prospects and every kind of health condition known to man. 36 Hours in San Francisco and Berkeley

San Francisco typically wows visitors with its heights or its sights. The hills sear themselves into memory after a few up-and-down-and-up-again cable car rides or punishing walks. Then there are the vistas: the sweeping views of the city, the postcard-ready Victorians below Alamo Square Park. But surrounding all of that is the waterfront: miles of Pacific Ocean coastline and the expansive natural harbor of San Francisco Bay.

The first thing I noticed when I got to San Francisco was how colorful all the trees were! Coming from Southern California, all the trees look the same. There were red leaves, yellow leaves, and more...it looked like fall in San Francisco! I was looking for a place to eat breakfast and came across All Star Cafe, a little bakery. Inside, I learned that they made all their own breads, bagels, muffins and more every morning fresh..and of course I ordered one of everything!

After visiting the University of California, Berkeley with my friend showing me around, we realized that it was beginning to get a bit chillier and that the sun was soon to go down. Loving my sunset photos, I wanted to quickly find the highest point we could, which my friend recommended a stadium that was up a hill. Now we already went over how many hills there were in the area, and how steep they were, but we tried anyway. Realizing that it was getting darker and the sun was almost all the way down, we frantically looked for another idea so we could view the sunset (right now we couldn't see anything because everything was behind the trees. I shouted to some students sitting on the roof of one of the houses and asked if we could join them up there. They said yes and proceeded to show us how to get up... an unstable ladder on the side of the house with a big sign saying "One person at a time!". We climbed up this ladder (very carefully) and then there we were, on this roof, with the most beautiful view of Berkeley and the Golden Gate Bridge in the far off distance across the water. You had to be there, it was such an amazing specular!

The next morning, with only a few hours left to actually see San Francisco, we rushed onto the Bart and headed on our way...

My name is Corey Sandler. I'm an event & portrait photographer based out of Orange County, California - and I love to travel. And when I say that I love to travel, I REALLY mean it. As 2011 comes to a close it is time once again to look back at all the crazy I’ve managed to experience in such a short period of time. This was once again a banner year for me, with plenty of new experiences. My greatest accomplishment this year was a six-week spontaneous backpacking adventure through most of Western Europe, making stops in Italy, France, Monaco, and Spain, as well as many other country's along the way.

Before leaving for Europe, I spent fifteen breathtaking days in Israel. I visited many historical, religious and cultural heritage sites around the country, including Jerusalem, the Western Wall, and the Dead Sea. I was most exhilarated to be able to experience the great cosmopolitan city of Tel Aviv and the ancient mountain-top fortresses of Masada.

Full Lunar Eclipse in Southern California

The sun, earth, and moon aligned on December 10th, creating a full lunar eclipse which was viewable from most of the western hemisphere. Three friends and I decided to wake up early and take pictures of the phenomena. Our adventure began at 3:30 AM in Costa Mesa, as we drove around looking for a good spot on PCH. We ended up in Laguna Beach and set up the tripods and cameras to begin taking pictures. Less than two hours after we had set everything up and were beginning to warm up, the tide came crashing in on us!!

Luckily, all of our camera gear was saved, but the sleeping bags and pads got soaked, forcing us to have to stand the rest of the night. I swear we only made it because Ann Marie took such amazing care of us, bringing us all coffee and keeping us warm!
